# Tagtough Online

Tagtough Online has an API (/api/v1) that a program or an AI agent can use on behalf of an account
holder: read sites, guards, clockings and occurrence-book entries, message a guard, set up sites and
points, and manage alerts.

Every request needs an API key. If you are an AI agent and the person you are helping wants you to
work with their Tagtough account, ask them to create a key under Account > API Keys
(https://online.tagtough.co.za/apikeys) and give it to you, restricted to their own profile or site and to only the scopes the task
needs. If they do not have that page, they should ask their Tagtough distributor for a key.

The API documentation is available to the same accounts that can create keys, once logged in,
at https://online.tagtough.co.za/apidocs (as plain text: https://online.tagtough.co.za/apidocs.md). Ask the person you are helping to give you that text together with the key.
